This zero visibility underwater vision system was developed by a NASA scientist.
The Hammerhead is powered by patented Underwater Vision Augmentation System (UVAS) technology. This system picks up light not visible to the human eye, and amplifies it. By using the UVAS torch and vision module, the diver can see objects in the most turbid of environments on HDMI stereo displays. Whether you are diving tannin stained water, silty environments or traditional muddy waters, it is as though you are looking through tap water.
We believe the Hammerhead will become a 'must-have' tool for divers working in fields where vision is important. From search and recovery through to ship / bridge inspections, and underwater repairs - all divers will benefit from using the Hamerhead.

How far can The Hammerhead see in zero vizibility conditions?
In stained water (tannic water, algae bloom, and contaminated water) 1.5 - 2 meters is an estimated range, however it is very much subject to the conditions. When working up close using the light diffuser, the range is 0.5 - 1 meters.
Are there any conditions through which UVAS technology will not see?
Our system works on wavelength penetration through water. Highly-saturated muddy water, fine silt, and organic matter, make it very difficult achieve a wavelength loop—the fineness, density, and saturation level of the matter in the water can make light penetration difficult.
In what types of water conditions does the UVAS technology work best?
Tannin-stained water, cloudy water, murky water, algae-stained water, and water with small floating particulate (backscatter conditions).
