The clove hitch is probably the most spearo-specific knot to know. It tightens and grips on itself as you pull on the ends making it perfect as a constrictor knot to tie your own rubbers and bungees.
 STEP 1. Wrap end around pole. |
 STEP 2. Cross line over itself and back around the pole. |
 STEP 3. Slip end under the last wrap. |
 STEP 4. Pull ends as tight as possible. |
