Knives

The type of Knife you need will depend on the type of diving you do. For example free divers collecting paua typically use a chisel tip blade like the Atlantis Quest K11 while recreational divers often use general purpose drop blades like the Atlantis Icon K2. Spearfishers often prefer specialised knives like the Atlantis Vertex K51.

The most important factors in deciding on the right knife for you should be the grade of stainless steel, length of blade, blade features such as line cutter and the reliability of the sheath and its locking system.

Note that 420 stainless steel will always hold an edge but can be susceptible to surface rusting if not cleaned correctly after diving.
