Jack Preston

Growing up as a kid, Jack always had a passion for animals thanks to his heroes Steve Irwin and David Attenborough.

Jack started photography about 4 years ago when he emigrated to New Zealand from the UK. A trip to Australia closely followed his arrival to New Zealand and seeing a very diverse amount of wildlife in and out of the water was the catalyst for Jack to start sharing his wildlife passion through his online photography page JPPhoto.  New Zealand isn't as spoilt for wildlife photography as Australia terrestrially so this is when Jack started looking at diving and underwater photography in the stunning New Zealand waters as an opportunity to quench the thirst for adventure, and the need to be surrounded by and engaging with wildlife. Having only dived opportunistically in the past when holidaying, Jack enrolled on a Marine Studies course  in February 2016 to up skill in diving and be immersed in the big blue as much as possible.  He is now qualified up to Divemaster standard and has already captured some very cool footage of marine life with the highlight being an encounter with a fur seal.

Jacks is also extremely passionate about animal welfare and conservation which reflects strongly in the content he posts and his personal lifestyle choices. Through his photography he hopes to be able to grab the attention of people and show them the beauty of the wildlife we share the earth with and ultimately why we need to help them to survive/thrive in a world where their natural habitats and resources are being destroyed by the impact of mankind.
